2 Days in Dwarka for Budget Trip
Dwarka is a small coastal town with a big spiritual vibe. It's one of Hinduism's holiest cities, but it's also surprisingly easy to explore on a tight budget. The temples, beaches, and local food make it a great place to soak up some culture without spending much. I've been here a few times, and it's always felt welcoming and peaceful.

Day 1
Day 1 in Dwarka
Start your Dwarka adventure with its most iconic temples, a peaceful beach, and a taste of local flavors.
Activities
Dwarkadhish Temple Visit
Begin your day at the heart of Dwarka’s spiritual life—the Dwarkadhish Temple. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, this 2500-year-old temple is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. The morning aarti is a serene experience, with the sound of conch shells and hymns filling the air. The temple’s intricate carvings and towering spire are stunning.
- Dress modestly (covered shoulders and knees)
- Avoid crowded days like weekends if possible
Gomti Ghat and Boat Ride
A short walk from the temple, Gomti Ghat is a peaceful spot where the Gomti River meets the Arabian Sea. Take a small boat ride (Rs. 50-100 per person) to see the confluence and the iconic ‘Gomti Kund’—a freshwater spring believed to be brought by Lord Krishna. The ghats are lined with smaller temples and chai stalls.
- Try the ‘panchamrit’ (holy drink) sold near the ghat
- Bargain lightly for boat rides
Beyt Dwarka Excursion
Hop on a shared auto or taxi to Okha (30 mins) and take a ferry to Beyt Dwarka, an island believed to be Lord Krishna’s residence. The main temple here is quieter than Dwarkadhish but equally sacred. The ferry ride offers great sea views, and you might spot dolphins if lucky!
- Carry water and snacks—limited options on the island
- Ferries run every 30 mins

Day 2
Dwarka Coastal & Cultural Day
A mix of coastal sights, local culture, and lesser-known spiritual spots to round off your Dwarka visit.
Activities
Sunrise at Nageshwar Jyotirlinga
Start your day early with a peaceful visit to one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, just 15 km from Dwarka. The temple opens before dawn, and the morning aarti is a serene experience. The 25-meter tall statue of Lord Shiva nearby adds to the spiritual vibe.
- Carry a shawl – mornings can be breezy
- Combine with breakfast at nearby stalls serving hot poha
Rukmini Devi Temple & Local Market
Often overlooked but steeped in mythology, this intricately carved temple dedicated to Krishna's consort is 2 km north of Dwarkadhish. Afterwards, wander through the nearby vegetable market where vendors sell fresh produce and local snacks like fafda-jalebi.
- Look for the stunning murals inside the temple
- Try the sugarcane juice at market stalls
Dwarka Lighthouse & Sunset at Bhadkeshwar Mahadev
Climb the spiral stairs of Dwarka Lighthouse for panoramic Arabian Sea views (open 4-6 PM). Then head to the wave-battered Bhadkeshwar Mahadev temple – locals believe this Shiva shrine protects Dwarka from sea storms. Time your visit for sunset when the crashing waves turn golden.
- Wear sturdy shoes for lighthouse stairs
- Tide-dependent – check if Bhadkeshwar is accessible
