Dhauli Giri is a hill located on the banks of the river Daya, 8 km south of Bhubaneswar in Odisha, India. It is famous for its Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda) and the rock edicts of Emperor Ashoka. The site marks the place where the Kalinga War was fought, leading to Ashoka's transformation and his adoption of Buddhism.
