North Sentinel Island
North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands, located in the Bay of Bengal. It is home to the Sentinelese, an indigenous people in voluntary isolation who have defended, often by force, their protected isolation from the outside world. The island is surrounded by coral reefs and lacks natural harbors, making access difficult. The Indian government has declared the island and its surrounding waters a restricted area to protect the Sentinelese and their way of life.
